Stella & Dot Trunk Show – Here’s What Happened

We love all things sparkly here at Forever Gorgeous.   That’s why we were so excited to be hosting our first Stella & Dot trunk show and open night right here at the spa.

There was a wonderful selection of jewellery and accessories on display, as well as personal styling and – of course – some bubbles to help things along!

You can see what happened in the short video below –

If you’d like to host your own trunk show with your friends – and earn some FREE jewellery in the process – just drop an email to info@forevergorgeous.co.uk and we’ll send you some information.

It’s a lot of fun! 🙂

How To Slow Down The Ageing Process

When those pesky lines appear around our eyes, it can make us feel a ‘little sensitive’ to say the least.

There are some of us that embrace the laughter lines and grow old gracefully, and there are others (like us) that dig our heels in and refuse to give in!
There are some incredible products and facials available nowadays that can do wonders for skin – but, its so important that we understand what’s causing our skin to change, and the steps we can take daily to prevent stop aging in its tracks!
SUNCREAM
OK, we all know this – its nothing new.  But do you know why suncream is so important?
Its been reported that the sun is responsible for 80% of premature aging in skin – and if that statistic doesn’t make you slap on the SPF, then nothing will!
There are 3 types of UV rays emitted by the sun – all that cause different concerns for us .

UVA is responsible for premature aging and skin cancer

UVB is also a culprit for premature aging and skin cancer but is the ray responsible for burning us

UVC is kept out by our ozone layer – but is the most harmful of the 3.

Using a good quality SPF can work wonders in protecting us from damage, burning and aging.
TAKING CARE OF YOUR HANDS
It’s super easy to forget our hands – but cream up guys, as our hands can be the biggest giveaway when it comes to aging!
Our hands go through so much everyday and need some TLC to keep them hydrated and firm!
Massage some good quality hand cream in every night so skin can rest and rejuvenate through the night.
SLEEPING IN MAKEUP
We’ve all done it…. stumbling up to bed (after a long day or maybe a little too much wine) and we skip the night routine to fall into bed.
Makeup on or not, our skin picks up all sorts of toxins and pollutants through the day.  Night time is when our skin repairs the damage from the day.  And if it’s covered in makeup or that day’s exhaust fumes, it can’t breathe properly and do what it needs to do.
Cleansing and toning nightly remove all the yukky stuff that blocks pores, leaving our skin ready to breathe and renew.
STICK WITH YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE
Ever bought a new miracle product, and trashed it after 4 weeks because you didn’t look ten years younger?  Well, you might want to use it for a bit longer.
It takes 30 days for our skin to renew its self and 4 months for collagen and elastin to renew.  It takes time for the products to work their magic, but be consistent with them and you’ll see a great difference.
GET YOUR SLEEP
Did you know that missing out on valuable sleeping time can actually age your skin?

When you don’t get enough sleep, your body releases more of the stress hormone cortisol. In excess amounts, cortisol can break down skin collagen, the protein that keeps skin smooth and elastic.

Sleep loss also causes the body to release too little human growth hormone. When we’re young, human growth hormone promotes growth. As we age, it helps increase muscle mass, thicken skin, and strengthen bones.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER

Staying hydrated promotes skin circulation at its base. A good rehydration can make us feel more awake, slimmer, healthier and look younger. health organisations recommend 8 glasses per day.
